● myrcene (C10H16) is pyrolyzed from beta-pinene, with pleasant balsamic odor, insoluble in water, dissolvable in ethanol, ethyl ether, chloroform and other organic solvents.
● APPLICATION
Myrcene is used in preparing flavouring essence of papaya, mango and orange, and making cologne perfume and deodorizing agent. It is an important intermediate for synthetic spices to produce geraniol, linalool, lyral, dihydro mycrenol and other spice products. As well as the intermediate of pharmaceutical give obvious effects in expectorant and antitussive.
