The Loud Speaker Cable Red and Black
The Loud Speaker Cable Red and Black is used to connect the amplifier to the Loud Speaker. This type of cable has no shielding layer. For this kind of wire, the key is to reduce its resistance. Because the output impedance of modern power amplifier is very low, the requirements for the Loud Speaker cable are also increased. Large or multiple stranded wire. The wire is from pure copper to silver wire. The Loud Speaker cable of the more expensive price is the special line of oxygen-free copper Loud Speaker. Its main feature is good electrical conductivity and low resistivity. It uses it to increase the sound when playing back the sound.
What is Loud cable?
Loud Speaker cable is the wire used for the electrical connections between Loud Speakers and amplifier sources. Resistance is by far the most important. Low-resistance wire allows more of the source’s power through to the Loud Speaker coil, meaning more power and more sound.
Generally speaking, resistance starts to have an effect on the performance of a Loud Speaker when resistance is greater than 5% of the Loud Speaker’s impedance. Resistance is affected by two key aspects: wire length and the cross sectional area of the wire. The shorter the wire is, the less resistance it will have.
The cross sectional area of the wire is referring to the thickness, or gauge, of the wire. The thicker a wire or the lower the gauge, the less resistance. It is therefore a combination between Loud Speaker impedance, length and gauge that affects the resistance.
Thicker wires are better: It’s true that for long runs, thicker wires are better at reducing the effects of resistance. But for most set ups (those with Loud Speakers within 100 ft of the amplifier), 16-gauge lamp cord is fine. For Loud Speakers 100 to 200 ft. from the amp, experts suggest use 14 gauge. And from 200 to 400 ft., they recommend 12-gauge wires.
The Conducter
Copper is the most widely used material for Loud Speaker cable due to its low cost and low resistance. However, copper does oxidise so it needs to be well covered and insulated.
