Dr. Hanan Aljabri is an Omani architect, urbanist and planner. She graduated with bachelor in Architectural Engineering from Bahrain University in 2001.
In 2002, she joined Muscat Municipality as an Architect then assigned as Head of Architectural Section in Central Design Directorate. She designed a wide range of the municipality’s projects.
In 2009, she moved to Edinburgh where she conducted her master degree in Urban and Regional Planning followed by PhD, both from Heriot-Watt University. Her PhD titled as ‘The Planning and Urban Design of Liveable Public Open Spaces in Oman: Case Study of Muscat’.
In 2014 she returned to Muscat Municipality as Senior Specialist of Architectural Studies at the Office of the Head of Muscat Municipality.
Later in 2017, she was assigned to develop municipality strategic plan.
In early, 2019 Aljabri designate as a Director of Strategic Planning Directorate. Aljabri has a genuine interest in planning and urban designing places for people to live, work, play, enjoy and festive.
